River Cynon Record Shots

Today I walked the same stretch of the Cynon as Wednesday when I saw the Mink and Water Rail this time armed with a camera and binoculars. As suspected neither species deemed to put in an appearance when I was fully equipped. A couple of Dippers were flying around and two female Goosanders were just below Mountain Ash Bridge. One Moorhen, lots of Mallard, Pied and Grey Wagtails and Goldfinch made up the supporting cast.

As I was typing this I received a phone call from my friend Gareth who has just seen the Mink catch a trout nearly as big as itself just below where I seen it on Wednesday. Hopefully he can get some shots of it.
